ACLU of Oregon Won’t Take A Stand On Portland Fluoridation

Last week, I wrote to the ACLU of Oregon to basically ask if we can sue the city council members over the lack of a public vote on the fluoridation of public water. They wrote me back Monday night, here is their response:

The ACLU of Oregon has not taken a position on the pros or cons of fluoridation. As a due process matter, it is important that the city council provide the public an opportunity to present their views. We can’t advise you as to whether there are grounds for a lawsuit or not. We would suggest that Oregon’s initiative/referendum/recall process may provide a recourse for those who believe the council’s handling of this matter has been flawed.
