massive terror drill may hardly be noticed
from oregonian: It's T-Day. Topoff 4, the largest counterterrorism drill in the history of mankind... Despite the exercise's big-bang production values, it's unlikely most Portlanders will notice anything out of the ordinary. Topoff begins with two days of around-the-clock live action at Portland International Raceway, before eventually moving to paper exercises inside area board rooms. But we're talking about protecting the homeland here. And there's not much time before the mock bomb goes off.

from katu: Local emergency responders are doing their best to prepare for the worst Tuesday as they take part in the largest terrorism exercise in U.S. history. The "TOPOFF 4" exercise is two years in the making and involves the cities of Phoenix, Portland, and the U.S. territory of Guam. The largest part of the drill is taking place in Portland.
